The school exists to provide an outstanding education for pupils. Therefore it stands to reason that the views of pupils on aspects of their education should be carefully considered. Our school council are instrumental in influencing change and giving a pupil perspective on various aspects of school life.
The school council consists of our Head Boy and Head Girl, as well as representatives from each year group from Year 7 to Year 11 and from various student bodies. Pupils are nominated and voted in by their peers through their Year Group Councils.
Discussions take place in year groups on issues of importance to pupils. The school council meet regularly as a body to discuss these issues with a member of the senior leadership team. The meetings are minuted and then fed back to other pupils through the Year Group representatives and school assemblies.
Our Head Boy and Head Girl are also associate governors of the school and represent the overall views of pupils at the highest level in the management of the school.
