Study Skills
It is essential that all pupils have the skills they need to enable them to study and learn efficiently. These are important life skills and are essential for pupils to excel in school examinations. All our pupils have opportunities to develop study skills across the curriculum and through the PSHE programme.
Pupils are encouraged to consider the following:
- Getting organised to study – having a quiet place to work and organising homework and revision well.
- Time management – setting blocks of time aside to complete work and revision, without rushing tasks.
- Effective reading strategies – regular reading is essential for pupils to do well in school. Setting time aside each day to read will improve performance in school.
- Developing writing skills – there are lots of opportunities in school for pupils to develop their writing skills.
- Revision skills – planning revision well in advance of examinations, working in small ‘bite size’ chunks and regularly consolidating knowledge throughout the year helps pupils perform well in exams - see our comprehensive Key Stage 3 Revision Guide.
Sgiliau Astudio
Mae’n holl bwysig bod gan bob disgybl y sgiliau angenrheidiol i’w galluogi i astudio a dysgu yn effeithiol. Maent yn sgiliau bywyd pwysig sy’n hanfodol i ddisgyblion lwyddo mewn arholiadau ysgol. Mae gan bob un o’n disgyblion gyfleoedd i ddatblygu sgiliau astudio ar draws y cwricwlwm a thrwy’r rhaglen fugeiliol.
Anogir disgyblion i ystyried y canlynol:
- Trefnu ar gyfer astudio - cael lle tawel i weithio, trefnu gwaith cartref ac adolygu’n well.
- Rheoli Amser - neilltuo amser i gwblhau gwaith ac adolygu, heb frysio tasgau.
- Strategaethau darllen effeithiol - mae darllen yn rheolaidd yn angenrheidiol i ddisgyblion lwyddo yn yr ysgol. Bydd neilltuo amser bob dydd i ddarllen yn gwella perfformiad yn yr ysgol.
- Datblygu sgiliau ysgrifennu - mae llawer o gyfleoedd yn yr ysgol i ddisgyblion ddatblygu sgiliau ysgrifennu.
- Sgiliau Adolygu - Bydd cynllunio rhaglen adolygu cyn arholiadau, gweithio am gyfnodau byr yn rheolaidd yn cadarnhau gwybodaeth trwy gydol y flwyddyn. Bydd hefyd yn helpu disgyblion berfformio yn well mewn arholiadau.
